Expensive, and service is hit or miss. Some servers are great, but some are not. It can also be really slow at the restaurant, which can be a problem if you are stopping just on your way on the Dempster. The hotel is also expensive, and seems like a cash grab setup to take advantage of stranded customers when the road is closed.

Alway friendly at anytime of the day, and it is nice the as truck drives have somewhere to stop in very extreme weather conditions, I say thank you.

Interesting bar, good breakfast, friendly Sachs Islanders staff, and great beer selection and killer sandwiches. Didn't stay in hotel, which looks a bit threadbare, but the campsites have an amazing view. Beware of the campsite bathrooms. We skipped our showers. Risky.

Awesome little hotel. Built in the 70's and well maintained but not updated, which gives it a great back in time feel. The food was good and the beer was cold. This place is your only option if you're stopping half way on the Dempster, but that's not a bad thing. My only complaint is the WiFi - I can swallow the $5 cost given the remote location and satellite internet, but it only seemed to work if you sit on one particular sofa in the lobby and nowhere else. None the less, loved this place and would stay again.

Awesome bar with lots of stuffed animals and a bunch of photos from the mad trapper manhunt...
